Common questions

How do I scan a printed puzzle?

Tap Scan a puzzle on the home screen and point your camera at a Sudoku so the whole grid is in frame. Samuraiku reads it on your device, and nothing is uploaded. If a digit is misread, you can correct it before you start.

What’s the difference between Samurai and Classic?

Classic is the standard 9×9 Sudoku. Samurai is five 9×9 grids that overlap at the corners in a plus shape. Each grid follows the normal rules, and the shared corner boxes must satisfy both grids at once.

Do my puzzles sync between devices?

Yes. If iCloud is enabled, your settings and progress sync privately through your Apple ID. There are no accounts to create.

I got a new phone. Do I have to pay again?

No. Sign in with the same Apple ID and re-download Samuraiku from the App Store, or use Restore Purchases. One purchase covers all your devices.

My Game Center scores aren’t showing.

Make sure you’re signed in to Game Center in the Settings app, and that it’s enabled for Samuraiku. Game Center is optional, and the game works fully without it.

Someone sent me a puzzle link.

Opening a samuraiku.com/p/… link with the app installed drops you straight into that exact puzzle. Without the app, the link brings you here to get it first.
